Getting paid with Authorize.net

How to connect your Authorize.net account (US academies) by pasting its three keys, to take card payments straight to your account.

If your academy is in the United States and already has an Authorize.net merchant account, students can pay by card into that account. There's no "connect account" button: you paste the three keys from your Authorize.net dashboard and DojoTally tests them before saving them.

Where: menu → Payments → Authorize.net

Find the keys in Authorize.net

  1. Go to your Authorize.net dashboard → Account → Settings → API Credentials & Keys.
  2. Copy the API Login ID.
  3. Copy the Transaction Key. If you don't have it saved, Authorize.net lets you generate a new one; if another system uses the old one, it may stop working.
  4. Copy the Signature Key (same screen). DojoTally uses it to check that every payment notice really comes from Authorize.net.

Connect it in DojoTally

  1. In Payments, on the Authorize.net card, paste the three keys into API Login ID, Transaction Key and Signature Key.
  2. If it's a test account, check This is a test (sandbox) account.
  3. Tap Test and connect. DojoTally tests the keys, finds out which currency your account charges in and registers the payment notice in Authorize.net. If a key was copied wrong, it tells you right then and nothing is left half done.
  4. Done: the card says Connected. Charges in USD. (or your account's currency). Students can now pay by card from their portal and from payment links.
The keys are stored encrypted. To stop using it, tap Disconnect. If you connect another account, it replaces the previous one.

How students pay

The student taps pay in their portal or in the link they receive, and pays by card on Authorize.net's secure page. The payment goes straight into their account in DojoTally. If a payment is refunded or voided in Authorize.net, it gets flagged and we let your team know.

If you have more than one payment method connected, each charge goes through the one that takes its currency: Mercado Pago first, then Stripe, then Authorize.net. Automatic fee debit is only available with Mercado Pago.
