Promotions: stripes and belts

The requirements for each belt, the list of who's ready to be promoted based on attendance, how to promote, and the history.

DojoTally suggests who's ready for a stripe or for the next belt, based on your academy's requirements and each student's attendance. The decision is always the coach's: nobody gets promoted automatically, and students don't see this list.

The Ready to promote list with each student's progress

Requirements

In Promotion requirements you set, for each belt, how many classes (or hours) each stripe takes and how many classes or months the next belt takes; you can also set ages. Suggested values are included, using the IBJJF as a reference: edit them as you see fit. Belts come from your Catalog.

Ready to promote

The list shows each student with their belt, their last promotion and what they'd move up to (for example "→ 1st stripe"), and next to it, why they appear: "38 classes since the last stripe (requires 30)".

  1. Check the students you're going to promote.
  2. Choose What to award: One stripe or The next belt, and the Date.
  3. Tap Promote selected and confirm.

The student's belt and stripes update automatically, on their member card too.

History

Below is the Promotion history: the date, the student, what they moved from and to, and who promoted them. To promote students, the role needs the Promote students permission (see Team).
